FUN

Mike rocking out.
Dawson Playing

Hello everyone, we are still just chilling out over in England. The phone company has decided to cut our phone off almost 3 weeks too early and they say the internet is going to be cut off any day now. We should still be online every once in a while, we will just have to take the computer to the library or the community center. We will make due for the next 2 weeks..... YES.... I said 2 weeks and we are out of here. I am really excited. Michael's replacement got here yesterday and I think he is really getting excited now too.

I went to the BX (the base store) yesterday with my friend and they had a Karaoke set up. If you sang a song, you could get a coupon and save up to a max of $100 on any one item. Dalton, Dawson and I sang 'I Had a Bad Day" and we got a coupon for 50% OFF any one thing. We decided to buy the Wii Guitar Hero III. It is sooooo much fun. We were having a blast last night. I am not sure who had more fun, the boys or Mike and I after they went to bed. Here are a few pictures of them rocking out. If you have a Wii and don't have this, I recommend it, if you don't have a Wii, well I can't believe it!! HEEHEE You can come to our house and we will share. (Just to let you know, I am kicking Mike's butt on the Guitar Hero!!!)

We will keep you posted on where we are and what is going on but until then, some of you have our cell or email us. Thanks for looking!!

We are still here!!!

Wow, we have been so busy, the time and events are flying by like mad. We have now been packed out and our goods are on their way to the good ol USA. Things have just blown by, it seems as if we were looking forward to them forever and then now we are looking back thinking, "wow, when did that happen?"

We went on our camp out to Normandy, France. It was amazing and very humbling. We were able to see a lot of the coast for the different beaches, Omaha, Utah, Sword, Juno and Gold. The cliffs were daunting and to even imagine what the men were thinking as they were approaching in their boats, knowing they had to try to climb the cliffs and get shot at while doing so is an impossible task. So many lives lost..... The American cemetery there was done so beautifully and I am grateful for that, at least these men have a beautiful and Peaceful resting place. (I will attach some pictures)

Mike and the boys on the edge of a cliff near out campsite

Susan and Dalton on the bus

The Eternity pool at the American Cemetery

Dylan Crossing over to Boy Scout on Omaha Beach
A shot of the cliffs from the boat

A shot of Pointe Du Hoc, there were so many craters from the bombs and some bunkers.

The American Cemetery

The Memorial statue, this represents Youth rising up out of the waves. It was beautiful.

The wall of the missing...... very sad to see so many names still missing

Other good news is that Michael finally graduated!!! And I am ever so sorry to say that my camera battery was dead so I didn't get a picture of it. I am hoping to get one from the news paper guy that was there. I got it on video though. If I ever figure out how to add that I will. I must be going for now. I hope all is going well and I will keep you all posted on our whereabouts. Thanks for looking.....

Birthday party

Mike, Dylan and Dalton, there in the middle

Dalton Coming out of the flume
They shared a cake, Power Rangers
Taking their bite out of the corner

Finally it was time for Dalton and Dawson's joint birthday party. We started the morning with french toast and then Dalton and Dawson got to open their gifts. Dawson got an omnitrix, (from Ben-10) and Dalton got a Spiderman puzzle ball. They were both so excited. By 9am, we were off to pick up the cake and get to the leisure centre. We decided to have it at the Breckland leisure centre nearby in Thetford, they have a really cool swimming pool there that creates waves and has a current that pulls you around. It was so much fun and we all had a blast. I think we will be going back there before we leave. We were all so tired after we were done though, whew!!

Things are moving quite quickly for us, we shipped the truck out today and the movers come to pack us out next week. It won't be long now. We are off to Normandy this weekend to go camping with the scouts. It should be fun but I am praying for dry, if not good weather!! I can deal with a little chilly but I am just afraid that it will rain and then our tent will be soaked and the movers will be here the next day after we get home, I don't want a moldy tent...

Well, I best run for now, there is so much that I should be doing other than sitting here at the computer. Enjoy the pictures and I will post some of the camping trip next week... I hope...

Finally

Ok, clearly I have been crazy busy as seen by the date of my last post. We are all doing very well, time is flying by and I sometimes feel overwhelmed but for the most part, we are all getting through it. We have something going on on most days and the weekends are pretty filled up so we are constantly running. The truck gets shipped in a week and the movers come in just over two weeks to pack us out, we are going to Normandy for a campout for Dylan's cross over to Boy scouts in two weeks. YIKES

We have decided to do a joint birthday party for Dalton and Dawson and we have decided to do it at the Leisure Centre in Thetford. It should be great fun, they have an awesome pool that has a current through it so it will just pull you around the little "island" and then they start up waves sometimes, there is a flume in there too. The boys are so excited. So am I, I can't wait to post those pictures.

My friend Ronni and I took our kids out to a great park in Bury St. Edmunds called Nowton Park. It has trails through the woods, huge open fields, soccer pitches, tennis courts, a great play park, a picnic area and bathrooms to so it is a fantastic place to go. During the spring, there are millions of Daffodils that bloom. I am sad to say that I missed the main bloom this year but there were still a lot. I took a few pictures and I hope you enjoy.

Until later....

Happy Easter

Dawson making a snow angel.

Dalton and Dawson, ready to throw the huge snowballs at me. They got me to.

The boys and our snowman

Dylan making his snow angel

Well, As I posted a while back, here are the pictures of snow. The kids and I had a blast. It was too cold for me though. After a snowball fight and then helping with the snowman, I was happy to come in!!! The boys stayed out for a while but by the time they came in their coats, mittens and jeans were soaking wet. I was a smart Mommy and they all had their wellies on!! I think this will probably/hopefully be the last of Winter since Spring officially started the other day. I am so ready for the sun and some nice warm days. They wind has been horrible, with gust up to 40mph for about 5 days in a row. At least it is not really blowing today.

We headed out for church this morning but when the truck started sliding all over the road two times, I turned around and headed home. I was too afraid to drive over to the other base in these conditions. I am saddened by this as I was really looking forward celebrating with our friends the true reason for Easter!! The fact that our Savior rose.

Well I must close for now, enjoy the pictures, we had a blast playing and enjoy your day. Praise God!!

Someone's 7!!

Where does the time go?? Dalton just turned 7 on Friday. I can't believe it. We didn't do anything for his birthday yet, we are going to do a joint birthday party at the bowling alley next month I think. We are getting short on our time here and a lot of the weekends are already booked with one thing or another. I did have to bake some cupcakes for a bake sale so I held 5 back so we could celebrate with him. I still can't believe he is 7!!

We also had an Easter party and the kids had a blast. The boys ate sooooo much junk. They had a table where the kids could decorate a sugar cookie and then eat it, the cake walk of course where they won cupcakes, cookies and candy. They were able to decorate hard boiled eggs, eat popcorn and jump in bouncy castles. It was great fun. Too bad Michael was in school.... I managed to be a VERY good girl and I didn't eat anything that I should not have. Here are a few pictures of the day.

Dawson with the Easter Bunny, he really looks grumpy!!

Life

Wow, it has been a while since I posted anything, life just seems to get in the way.. We are so busy trying to prepare for our move, and one or more of the kids have extra activities after school 4 days a week. I am so exhausted by the time I get them into bed. We are down to 12 weeks and counting, and I don't think I am the only one counting. It is pretty sad but I think when you know you are getting short (in time left overseas) you start noticing all the things that really drive you crazy but for the last 3 years or so, you had just resolved to deal with it. That's how it is for me anyway. I am starting to be bothered by all the silly little things, like trying to get mail or having to order certain things online because I can't find them in the BX and it is too expensive to purchase them on the economy. The pound rate is killing us right now at over 2 to 1 so any shopping off base or any activities have to be planned. Michael is busy with school right now so we won't really see him for a week. I better get off this subject because I could really go on all day and it would not be doing anyone any favors.

On other news, I have some great news, I had my weigh in yesterday and I have now lost 40 pounds!!!! I am so excited and I am still really motivated. I still have a long way to go but I only have 10 more pounds to lose to meet my goal of 50 before I leave England. I think that is totally do-able.

One last thing, please keep us in your prayers, we are having some issues with our tenant in our house so I am just hoping things get resolved soon. I am really just praying they move out soon.

Until next time, have a great time and enjoy your life!!

Awana Games

Mike, Dylan with his medal and Dawson

Wow, it has been nearly a week since I posted, we have been so busy. It has been a very uneventful week since I last posted. We just do our thing during the week and try to squeeze in what we can. We were lucky this past Saturday to be able to go to the first ever Awana Games held here in England. They have had the regular clubs here for years but they have never been able for whatever reason to have the games. It was so much fun. We go to Awana at the Chapel on Mildenhall on Wednesday evenings and the boys are doing great with it. Our group along with RAF Alconbury, RAF Menwith Hill and RAF Marum met at the RAF Alconbury High School on Saturday. Dylan's team for T n T won first place over all and they got a really cool medal. Dalton's team placed second for the Sparks but they all had a great time and did a good job. I will attach a couple of pictures of that, what few I have, my camera is freaking out and I don't know how to fix it.

Dylan and Jared doing the 3 legged race.

Dalton is in blue somewhere, they had to crawl to the other side and then run in for the team.

Dylan doing the 4-way tug of war, good thing he has long arms, he had to reach and grab the yellow bean bag which is behind them, his team won.

Yesterday, Monday, Michael and I were finally able to get some things accomplished as far as getting dates for our move lined up. We went to the "Smooth Move" brief and then we were able to set up dates for TMO (the movers) to come and pack us out. We are not able to do that until April 29 due to the fact that we will be camping out in Normandy for the weekend of the 25-27 and we would need all of our camping gear for the camp out and of course, we want the movers to pack it out for us. We also have plane reservations for June 3!!!! YEAH we are so excited. I am so ready to come back to the states and be just a little closer to friends and family. I am also excited about being able to go back to our church. I sure do miss it and all the friends I had there. Won't be long now, we only have 2 months and 29 days!!! HEEHEE The kids are pretty excited as well but we have so much work to do. I am afraid we will be way over on our weight so we need to get rid of as much small stuff as we can, if we don't need it, it is broken, missing bits, ripped, or doesn't fit it is gone!! Any volunteers to come and help?? Dawson had picked up one of my empty plant pots the other day and accidentally dropped it, of course it broke and Michael said, "that's ok, one less thing we have to ship". Oh well, I imagine I will be making several trips to the tip!!

That is all for now, I guess I better get a lunch made for Daws and then I am off to the gym. Have a great day and thanks for sharing.

I lay it at Your feet GOD!!

The last few days, I have been stressing out, there is so much to do. Michael got his orders yesterday so now, the ball is in motion. Trying to nail down dates to leave, for the packers, for the cleaners etc is not as easy as it sounds. We are only allowed I think 3 nights in billeting before we leave so we have to time things accordingly which actually is very stressful because in doing this, everything is down to the wire. I have had so many things on my mind lately that I have not been sleeping well and waking up stiff and achy for being so restless. I have been waking up with a sudden thought about cars or houses or packers and lain in bed for hours before drifting back off to an uneasy sleep. We have just purchased a used US spec vehicle that we will ship back for Michael so we are now trying to sell our British spec cars. We are so afraid that we will get stuck with them. What will we do then?? I don't even like to imagine it. I pray everyday, about all kinds of things and for various people but as I laid in bed last night, I realized that I have been praying that "we sell the van, we sell the car" etc. I decided that I was going about this all wrong so when I started my prayer, I told GOD that I give this all to him. I will do my part in getting things prepared but I lay my stresses at His feet and I praised Him for being such and awesome GOD allowing me to do that. I have to tell you that I slept like a rock last night, did not wake up once and I didn't not ache at all this morning. I even slept through the earthquake that happened over here. Apparently it was a 4.7 just southeast of us. We went to bed just after midnight and the earthquake happened about 1am.
If you wouldn't mind just keeping up in your prayers, we have a lot going on and the next few months will be very stressful and hectic.

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Music to my ears

Well, this week is yet again almost at an end. Dylan, Dalton and I had violin lessons today and I have to say that we are all doing quite well with it. Dylan and I can play about 6 songs and Dalton can play about 3 really good. I love playing the violin and so do the boys. It is easier than I thought it would be so since I can read music, I can pick out most of the songs from our beginners book. It is good fun. I wonder if the guitar is much like playing the violin?? I would love to learn to play that to. We are going to try and get the boys in piano when we get back on that side of the pond.

We had to take the van to the shop the other day because I am leaking oil. At this stage of our life, when we only have just over 3 months left here, I was praying that it was nothing serious. I had visions of a cracked block or a cracked something else that might leak oil. I said a couple of prayers before we took it into the shop and praise the Lord!!! It is just a gasket. It will cost about 5 pounds plus labor to fix it!!! I am so thankful. While we were at the shop, Michael came to pick me up and asked them about his car, his knobs for his heater have been messed up since about 3 months after he got the car over 3 years ago. The fan for the heater/defrost would only work on high or off and we were not able to move the temp dial at all or it would stop working so Michael managed to fix that where it was on full hot all the time. I guess it was ok in the really cold weather but when you turn it off the windows started to fog up and then when you turned it back on, it got really hot. We went ahead and left the car there for them, they ordered the parts and said they would fix it the next day. That only cost 78 pounds, about $160. I can't believe that he drove it around for 3 years with it broken like that and it was that easy to fix. We for some reason thought it would cost about $500. At least this will help it sell better. I am praying right now that both our cars will sell. They are both right hand drive so we can not bring them back to the US. We have a line on a vehicle for Michael that we might buy and ship home so if you wouldn't mind, please keep these things and just our move in general in your prayers. I have a feeling we can use them.

The bullet train of life!!

I don't know where the time has gone. It is already Tuesday and I still feel like it is the Tuesday from last week. Dawson was out of school since the 7th and just went back yesterday, however Dylan and Dalton had the day off yesterday for the holiday. I feel like I have been so busy and never a moment to myself. Michael and Dylan had a campout this weekend, the "Freeze-O-Ree". This is where the Webelo II Cub Scouts camp out with the Boy Scouts. Mike was not too thrilled with this, since we do live in England, it is February and the campout actually had the word "freeze" in it. He decided not to take Dylan and Will, (our friends husband was gone so Mike said Will could camp with him and Dylan) out Friday night, that they would go early Saturday morning and the camp out Saturday night. Well, I was sound asleep in my nice warm bed until about 12:30am when Mike tried to open the front door but was unsuccessful since I had the chain on!! They gave it up, the tempature had dropped to 18. YIKES I don't blame them one bit. Some folks that actually stayed (which there were few!) said they had ice INSIDE their tent. Crazy weather but I think today is that last of the really cold days. We should have lows somewhere in the low 40's for the next week or so. It has been a really mild winter so far. No snow yet. I know I am jinxing the whole of England and I will post the pictures of the snow when it does. HAHA

Good news today, I got weighed in and I have lost a total of 35.5 pounds!!! I am so thrilled. I will only update you on the 5 pound marks or so, I am sure you really don't care but since it is a big part of my life right now, I feel the need to post it.

To all , have a great day and keep on keepin' on!!!

Crazy Weather

What a few days we have had. Today is the only day this week that there has not been delayed reporting to work and school. The fog has been so thick, I am absoutely positive that the expression of fog being "as thick as pea soup" originated here in England!!!! We were at a round about Wednesday night on our way to Awana and we could not even see the base or the base lights which were on the left. Once on base and driving toward the chapel, we drive parallel to the runway and we couldn't see it or the planes that usually pepper the runway. CRAZY!!! Looks clear today if not a little chilly.

Yesterday, being Valentines, Michael and I were fortunate enough to go out to dinner just the two of us. I managed to get reservations for the base Valentines dinner yesterday, not sure how that happened on such short notice but it worked out good!! It was really nice, there were just tables for two decorated with rose petals and little confeti bits, we had champagne and a five course meal. It was delicious. I would like to thank Ronni for volunteering (actually ordering us) to watch our kids since her husband was gone so that we were able to go out. You are awesome Ronni and I will miss you when we leave. I hope you all had a great day as well.

The days are flying by and feel sometimes as if I am losing touch with time. We are trying to get some dates together for our return home, also we are planning a trip to Holland in the spring and then Dylan has a Campout on the beaches of Normandy for his cross over to Boy Scouts. It is a packed next couple of months, not sure if that is a good thing or not yet!!!

1 year later

Mom and Me, Rainforest Cafe London, England 9-06

As I write this today, I am thinking of a phone call I received one year ago today at 3am from my sister, totally distraught telling me that our Mother was dead. It is still hard for me to believe, I miss her so much and I miss talking to her. The fact is that I probably didn't talk to her as much as I should have but I was lucky enough to have talked to her just 2 days before. We were planning her trip back to England in September, she was going to go into work on Monday and put in her leave request. We were going to go to Paris, just she and I. She never made it to work on Monday. The fact that I didn't talk to her as much as I thought I should have was ok, because I could have just picked up the phone and called her whenever I did get the fancy to do so. As I no longer have that option, I find myself wishing I could and missing her more than ever. Even if it is just to ask her a question about a recipe or a sickness I might have had as a kid or to compare myself as a child to my children. These are all things that I can never again do. They say time heals all wounds, and I can say that this is true, it has gotten easier, only because life goes on for the living. Even as harsh as that may sound, it is the truth, I have a family that depends on me, both my kids and Husband and I would also like to think that my brothers, sister and father depend on me, even if it is just to be a small part of their busy life.

As I look back, I don't know where the time has gone and it is really hard for me to believe that it has in fact been one year. I think of my mother every day and even though the pain of losing her has eased somewhat, it is still painful. To everyone who has lost a loved one, be strong and keep your faith. This in loving memory of my Mother: Liz Phillips!!!

I love you Mom

Breeding Britches

Ok, is it just me or does everyone's laundry multilpy in the hamper?? I would swear (that is if I was the swearing type!!) that I had all my laundry done, every stitch with execption of what was on our backs on Thursday. We all even wear our jeans twice if they are decent, usually by the end of the day, everyone's shirt is wrecked though. Dylan and Dalton were home yesterday so we decided to clean the house and do laundry. Ok, I decided but they were huge helpers. I had 6 loads of laundry. Ok, the sheets off my bed and some towels are a load but COME ON!!! Does it ever end. I probably wouldn't mind doing laundry if I didn't have to do it every day just to stay caught up.

It has been a crazy week, with Dawson sick, me on the verge of being sick, Michael called in to work for crazy hours so I am just exhausted. I have not been sleeping great and waking up stiff and sore. The weather has been cold, rainy and windy, (what's new?) I am in need of some sun and warm weather. It will still be a couple months, more like 4 until the weather is nice here. Oh well, I could complain, like I have just been doing or I could get over it and be thankful that I can feel anything at all. I will try to have a much better attitude for my next post, maybe I should do it on a day that my maid comes in and cleans the house for me!!! Yeah Right. Have a great day!

Ironic

Today was a rough day, trying to get the boys to do their homework is quite like herding cats as my friend Ronni likes to say. Dawson still a little sick and now I am not feeling well and Michael called into work all weekend it has been a long day. Dalton has started this incessant whining when he does his homework, he wants someone sitting next to him no matter what and his teacher assigns an absurd amount of homework for 1st graders. He sat at the table for about 2 hours and had not accomplished anything. Well, when he threw his last little fit, I had had quite enough. I decided it was time for a little something for him to cry about, (didn't you hate it when your parents said that??) Once that was over and he recovered enough to finish his work, he came up to me and apoligized. Told me he was sorry for his behavior and the fact that I had to spank him. He told me that he still loved me and he knew that the reason I spanked him was because I love him to. I of course told him how right he was and that if he had just consentrated he could have been finished with his work in about 30 minutes. Last weekend I think he was at the table for 5 hours doing all his work. I just think for a 6 year old, he is amazing!!

sick in the house!!

Wow, what a crazy week, poor Dawson still sick, I ended up taking him to the Doc. on Wednesday but she said that he did not have an ear infection and what he had was probably viral, etc. etc. etc. The same thing they all say everytime. Anyway, he got better Thursday, no more fever and was able to go back to school Thursday and Friday. When he got home, Friday evening he started going down hill again. Threw up again and now had a wicked cough. Samething yesterday, fever and throwing up. Poor little pooper. He slept with me last night again so I could keep an eye on him. I called my friend and she suggested that I put vapor rub on his feet and then socks over them. She said it is an old wives tale so I thought what the heck. Not sure if it was that or the medicine I gave him but he managed a pretty good nights sleep, he slept on and off until 9am this morning. We didn't have to worry about Daddy because he got called in to work last night and didn't get home until 2 I think and then was back up at 6:30am going back in. Poor Mike too. Other than poor Dawson, it has been an uneventful few days, although Michael and I are not feeling too well either. My throat hurts and my nose is stuffy but nothing like Dawson. I am sure I will mend soon enough.

Well, some of you are getting excited to see us in the beginning of June, I am afraid it will have to wait until the end of June now. Michael has found a class that he would like to take here before we leave so I don't think we will be leaving until the last week of June sometime. It kind of messes up the plan that we were working on which was doing his graduation on June 7 in Germany while visiting good friends Stephanie and Charlie and kids and then flying to see Marybeth from there for a few days and then home. I am a little disappointed but I understand. He should hav 6 of his 11 classes for his Masters done before we leave here. Then when we get back, he will have to requal. to fly again and study for Cheif so I think these classes will be put on hold for a few months. Until September or October I think. Anyway, Sorry Marybeth, I am sad to but we will get up there sometime in the summer.

Well, Uncle Dick, this is for you. I think I look better than this picture, (Isn't that the way it always is??) but here you are. I still have a long way to go but I was comparing pictures yesterday of me before and now and I can finally tell a difference. My jeans are way too big and that doesn't help but you will get the idea. Thanks for looking.

YEAH

Well, yesterday was my weigh in!! I knew I at least lost my 1/2 pound that would get me to my goal of 30 pounds lost. I was ever so pleased when she told me I had lost 4 pounds!!! I have lost a total of 33 1/2 pounds now and I am officially under the weight I was when we moved back to Florida the first time in 1994 and my "before children" weight. I am so excited. I am so motivated still and if anything, yesterday just firmed my resolve to do this. Not sure if I have said this before but my goal is to lose 50 before we leave England in June. I have 4 months left to lose 17 and I think, no I KNOW I can do it. I feel so much better, I have more energy and I don't ache in the mornings and I almost feel pretty sometimes. Amazing.

It has been a good couple of days with exception of Dawson who seems to have a fever and stuffy nose. Not sure what is going on with him. I think I need to have his ears checked. My kids have never been one to have much pain with ear infections so I might check that out. He has been home with me half of Monday, yesterday and I will keep him home today as well. He is not sleeping all night, he has been waking up when the Motrin wears off and his temp goes back up and of course that keeps me up. Last night, I had to come and sleep on the couch because he was in my bed and he likes to get right up against me. It sure makes for long nights. Please keep him in your prayers, I don't like it when my kids are sick, (not that anyone else would like their kids sick either!) I just hope no one else gets what he has.

Sunday was a big day for Michael, he finished his first class in his Master's program. He was so excited when he got home. We are all so proud of him. I am not sure how he does it. He doesn't have a class in February so he will have a small break before his next class in March.

Thanks for looking and have a great day. Until next time.....

Disappointed boys

Today was the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. Dylan and Dalton had both carved out cars and painted them up really nice. It came time to register them last night and I could not get the boys involved enough to place weights on them or even help weigh them in. I started putting the weights on them, trying to get the weight up to near 5 ounces. I can't say that I felt too sorry for them today when their cars did not perform very well. Dalton was so sad that I actually thought he would start crying. Dylan had the good grace to laugh it off. There were some amazing cars there, clearly the parents work but oh well. Dawson was bored out of his mind, he wanted to participate so bad but we didn't let him compete in the open class so he was upset with us. He was a good boy but even I was getting restless as it lasted over 3 hours.

The boys have a derby coming up for Awana, just maybe they will strive to do a little better.

Crazy Days

Wow, I feel so busy that I really think I just need to slow down. I am so exhausted at the end of the day that all I want to do is just sit in a quite place and not talk. By the evening, I am so tired of noise. My days seem so crazy and I didn't realize how crazy until I told Susie what my schedule was yesterday, here is a taste of it. Now mind, I don't do this every day but quite a few.

My Tuesday schedule:

6:30am wake up, get dressed for gym, make Michael breakfast and get his lunch together, (his dinner also this week since he is in class all week.)
7:00am wake up boys, get them dressed and fed. Backpacks together
7:45am on the road to take Dylan and Dalton to school, head back home once they are dropped off
8:40am Take Dawson to school by 9am and head straight to the gym for workout until 10:20am
10:30am Weight watchers meeting (I LOST 3 MORE POUNDS!!! :) ) Meeting over just after 11am and I had to go straight to the commissary for some groceries. Get that done, get home, take a shower, make and eat lunch, put on make up and blow dry my hair and before I know it, it is....
2:15pm time to get Dalton and Dylan, once they are picked up, it is nearly 3 and we run to the base to check our mail.
3:30pm Pick up Dawson and head home.
3:45pm arrive at home, I have exactly one hour to cut up veggies for a veggie tray and make dip for a meeting, cook dinner for me and the boys, eat and curl my hair. Not sure how I managed to do this, but I did
4:45pm on the road to take Dalton and Dylan to my friends house she is going to take them to Cub Scouts for me since I have a meeting and Michael is in class, and Dawson to Kory's house, she is going to babysit him.
5:00pm Meeting at Michael's commanders house with commander and first shirt.
6:00pm OSS (squadron) meeting/coffee where we go over what is coming up and what needs to be done.
8:00pm start rounding up boys
8:30pm home and it is about 9pm before the boys are put in bed. Then I have to clean the HUGE mess in the kitchen since there is no way I could have squeezed in time to clean it in the hour I had.
9:30pm, I returned my sister-in-law's call, couldn't talk long I was just too wiped out.

I am very thankful that not every day is like that, but I think too many are, tonight was Awana and I love Awana and being a leader but we don't get home until 8:15-8:30 and again, I am sooooo beat. Yet I will be up and at the gym at 5:30am tomorrow, and so the process goes around again. Please just keep me in your prayers, I will be needing them. I will be praying for a nice slow, relaxing, quite day!! :)

18 Years!!!!

Yesterday, Michael took Dalton to his Tiger (cub scouts) meeting at the fire house on Mildenhall. They had so much fun, they got to climb all over the trucks, spray the water, ride on the trucks, and Dalton got to turn on the sirens.

He had such a good time

Wow, where does the time go?? Just yesterday, I was a senior in High School dating this really good looking guy and Michael was lucky enough to be dating a Goddess HEEHEE. Now here we are, 18 years and 3 kids later. Michael and I were able to go out to a really nice dinner for our anniversary tonight. My friends Ronni and James watched the boys for us. It was really nice. We were able to talk without being interrupted or having to get on to the kids. There was a really nice older couple there, they vacation in Florida every Easter so we had plenty to chat with them about. The food was wonderful, (but definitely not Weight Watchers!!), the company great. It is so nice to get out and do things just for us every once in a while. I think we have been out on a "date" maybe 5 times since we have been over here, and 2 of those were just last month when Nana was here. We hate to ask someone to watch the kids. Once you go past two, it is a lot harder to get someone to watch 3 kids, especially if they have their own kids. We are lucky though, we have some good friends willing to do it for us. I hope to get one more really nice date in before we come back. Not sure it will work out but I will try.

Here we are at The Merry Monk Restaurant and Bar in Isleham

A fun day

Today, Michael and I went with Dalton's class on a field trip to a Panotmime in Bury St. Edmunds. It was great fun. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is at totally British thing but the lead girl/mom character is usually played by a man dressed up really ridiculous and the lead male is usually played by a girl. It is always fun and the crowd gets really involved.

On the way to pick up Dawson, (as my friend picks him up on Thursdays for me since Dylan and Dalton have violin and the times conflict) I saw the most amazing rainbow. I pulled over to take a couple of pictures. All I could think about was how beautiful it is and how God is so wonderful to come up with something so pure and beautiful and glorious.
I have been to the gym everyday this week so far and today was an early day, I got up at 5:45am to go. I am a bit tired!! So this will be all for today.

HMMMM Not good

Hello all. I stated in one of my last posts that I look forward to Tuesdays and my weight loss is doing well. Well, as you can see, it is Wednesday now and I was in no hurry to announce that I gained 2 pounds. My leader and I have come up with the reason that my body is getting used to working out again since I was on a week and a half hiatus while the kids were out of school for the holidays. I stuck to my plan and tracked everything I ate and didn't go over!! I don't get it really but that is my story and I am sticking to it. She (my leader) said that this week is an investment for next week so "don't fall off the WW wagon". I won't but I really hope next week is better. This is only my second gain in 3 and a half months. The other was only 1/2 a pound.

Other than my WW drama, we are all doing well. Getting back into our schedule of School, Violin twice a week, Cub Scouts, Awana, and Kumon. Sometimes I feel like it is all too much. The boys are doing really good in Violin and I am doing ok. Michael told me to buy my own violin so I can play too. It is good fun. I am really enjoying it.

Until next time!!

A good week

Wow, I can't believe it is Friday already. The week has just flown by. It was a good week all being said. Michael was at work too much and I didn't get all I wanted done but it was good just the same. We actually went out to dinner tonight, it was a good fun family time. We had some good laughs. Michael was telling me I had something in my teeth and I was trying to get it out, but it wouldn't give, so I made a goofy face and he started laughing and then I saw something in his teeth. Do you remember watching cartoons and they zoom in on the characters tooth and there is like a whole broccoli tree in between the teeth?? That is what popped into my head and I just about fell out laughing which made Mike laugh harder and then Dylan really started laughing. We finally got done, Dylan asked what was so funny!!!! That made us laugh even more. Kids are soooo silly.

We have a busy weekend planned, well Saturday at least. Michael actually told me that he is starting to feel "short". (meaning our time left here) Then he told me that we only have 4 1/2 months left. I just rolled my eyes because he always cuts time off to make it sound better. Well, he then had to prove it to me. I can't believe it. See Didn't I say that this year was going to fly by!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your posts. It is great!! Uncle Dick, that is so awesome, 50 pounds, WOW. Leigh Ann, I don't know what got me motivated but I am glad. So I don't know what I could share with you except that I am an awesome cheerleader!!

what a great day

Tuesdays, I usually look forward to them. I joined Weight Watchers on September 29, 2007 and I go to my meetings on Tuesdays. I have done very well so far but I was worried, we had not had a weigh in since December 18. This was my first in 3 weeks. My goal was to lose 5 pounds over the holiday break, I though that was realistic. Well, I didn't make my goal but I did manage to lose 4 pounds. There were only 3 of us in the meeting that showed a loss. I was still very excited about that. My new goal for this week is to lose 1 1/2, this will bring me to a total of 30. I am very excited and still highly motivated. I feel so much better and I want to thank Marybeth for getting me started. I saw her success and I wanted to see some for myself. After leaving my meeting, I felt so happy, recharged and ready to get my program going again as it was on hold while the kids were out of school. I have 4 more pounds and I will be at my pre-pregnancy weight!!! When I say that, don't think of Dawson, think of Dylan, it was him that I gained about 45 pounds and never lost it all!!!! I will keep you posted. :)

What a day

Man, I was so excited this morning, all the kids would be back in school, I would have a few hours to myself to get some of the little things done. Well it didn't work out. Dawson had a bad dream and came in to my room at 2am. I managed to get him back to his bed by 2:47am, he had fallen asleep but I couldn't with him there. Then I had the joy of tossing and turning until about 3:30am when I finally gave up and came out to the living room to watch tv. At 5am, I decided I really needed to try to get some sleep. Michael's alarm went off at 5:30am, I was still wide awake. Sometime while he was in the shower, I fell blissfully asleep at long last, only to have my alarm go off at 6:30am. YUCK!! When I came home from the gym, I just wanted to take a nap but I didn't for fear that I would not sleep tonight. I did not have the energy to do anything else either though so I did some things on the computer, ate lunch while watching TV. Then it was time to get Dawson and head to Dalton's school where he and Dylan were at violin lessons. I am not sure what happened to Dawson on the way home, but I think he was taken over by some beast for he said the most hateful thing to me. I was almost in tears. I would have been if I had not kept telling myself that he is only 4, but that is the really sad part. He told me that he hated me and that he wouldn't miss me if I died...... What on earth would make him say something like that. I absoutely do not talk that way, to anyone... EVER.... I don't understand, I just home tomorrow, he wakes and realizes that it was not nice and that he would miss me if I were gone. I guess that is all for now. For not doing anything today, I sure am exhausted! I am going to hit the hay. I hope tomorrow is a better day.
